We offer specialized services in the field of spectroscopic measurements of chemical and biological samples based on electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR).

Our laboratory is equipped with several spectrometers for measuring EPR signals of paramagnetic centers in a temperature range from just below the boiling point of liquid helium (~4.3 K) to temperatures exceeding the boiling point of water (over 400 K). Our primary spectrometer is the Bruker Elexsys E580, which operates in two frequency bands, X-band (approximately 9.5 GHz) and Q-band (approximately 34 GHz). We offer standard continuous wave (CW EPR) modes for EPR spectrum measurements and pulsed modes based on spin echo techniques, such as measurements of spin-lattice relaxation times, spin-spin interactions, ESEEM, HYSCORE, and DEER. For continuous wave measurements in the X-band, we have perpendicular mode EPR and parallel mode EPR available. Additionally, our laboratory offers the capability to measure spin-lattice relaxation in the liquid phase of radicals using the Saturation-Recovery technique.

The Elexsys E580 is equipped with a unique in Poland, innovative cryogen-free cooling system "The Stinger"* developed by the American company Coldedge and the Japanese Sumitomo Corporation Group.

Furthermore, our laboratory is actively developing software for data acquisition and analysis of EPR and optical measurements obtained using stopped-flow spectrometers from Bio-Logic.

We offer the possibility to conduct both standard and advanced EPR measurements. These measurements can be carried out as part of scientific collaboration or upon request as a paid commercial service. The measurements are performed by qualified personnel from our laboratory. This offer is addressed to both the employees of Jagiellonian University and external entities.

Sample types of EPR measurements:

1. CW EPR spectra in the X and Q bands at room temperature without temperature control.
2. CW EPR spectra in the X and Q bands with temperature regulation from 4.3 to 400 K.
3. CW EPR spectra in the X band in parallel mode.
4. Time-resolved EPR spectra in the X band with temperature control.
5. Measurement of spin-lattice relaxation times (T1) and spin-spin relaxation times (Tm) using spin  echo methods (Inversion Recovery, Spin-Echo decay) in the X and Q bands with temperature regulation.
6. Spin-lattice relaxation time measurements of radicals in the liquid phase using the Saturation-Recovery technique.
7. Advanced measurement types include HYSCORE, ESEEM, RIDME, DEER, as well as custom pulse sequences tailored to specific research objectives and measurement ranges.
